Community Engagement
Supporting Indigenous Leadership Development – the World Vision Young Mob Leadership Program
RossJuliaRoss, on behalf of clients and our employees, donated a day's profit as our gift this Festive Season, to the World Vision Indigenous Leadership program. Participants in the 2008 series of this program visited our Martin Place location on 10th December 2009 to share with our clients and team members, their experiences of the program and how it had changed their lives.
RossJuliaRoss has a proud history of community engagement and our active involvement in projects to improve the outcomes for Indigenous Australians is led from the highest levels of our organisation. In 2006, Managing Director, Julia Ross attended the inaugural Rain Makers Tour of Central Australia designed to provide attendees with an insight into life in a remote aboriginal community and to identify the hardships faced by Aboriginal people and the challenges these present. We assist Indigenous Australians through our Indigenous Employment Program as well as by working with organisations including Midnight Basketball, the NSW Aboriginal Job Compacts, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Job Network and Yarn’n.

October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is known internationally as Breast Cancer Month. It is a time when people across the world come together to recognise the impact of breast cancer on the community. RossJuliaRoss hosted several corporate breakfasts in Melbourne and Sydney in support of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre.
Movember
Did you know:
- Depression affects 1 in 6 men....most don't seek help. Untreated depression is a leading risk factor for suicide.
- Last year in Australia 18,700 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 2,900 died of prostate cancer - equivalent to the number of women who will die from breast cancer annually.
During Movember (the month formerly known as November) Edward "he is the mo" Christie, Michael "Blackadder" Robertson, David "Visa" Eccles, Ultan "Red Beard" O'Dwyer and Tom Money from Ross Martin Place grew Mos. That's right, this team the Mo back because we're passionate about tackling men's health issues and being proactive in the fight against men's depression and prostate cancer. Well done boys!
